'Andrews Communications' offered the best price I could find on GME TX-610 hand held unit plus 'ciggy light trickle charger @$97 total (post inc). Next best was Prestige Communications, who've served us
well in the past.
Any other links to consider?
Thanks eh Steve.
Ditto to other assorted misfits who've been of comfort recently.
(PLEASE read this post rapidly, before The Boss sees it and cans it as
well)
Travel safe, and may that rumoured rain drop into your patch. Jeff H.

Jeff,
Give Olbis at Rocklea a call they have always been competative with there pricing and are local if warranty issues arrive.

I was going to get my Icom from Olbis, and they were going to charge an extra $75 to program the other 88 channels in so I went to Access Electronics in
Cloncurry and they were $10 cheaper and was no charge to program it, I'm not knocking Olbis , I have spent a few hundred dollars there , even when their
shop was on
Ipswich Rd Oxley near the where the Oxley Rd Roundabout is

It is a 1 watt unit.
Not real good. Best to go for 4W or 5W.
If you are not in a hurry I have units arriving in the next few weeks.
Millitary grade UHF 99 ch.
Regards Derek.

Thanks Derek, but cheque is in the mail: just need a "voice back to car unit", and both Andrews and Prestige scrubbed the others by around 30%(min).
I must admit that Olbis didn't figure, as they were far from competitive (and not particularly user friendly), 3 years ago. If they've lifted their game, I apologise for any aftersmell, and would urge all (esp. SE Qld.) folk to give 'em a go. JH.

Dusty, you didn't act on my email?
Not-so-good-dog.
Then again, maybe it's this daylight-saving time warp that slows electronic transmission across the 3hr sun gap.
(That could mean up to 6 hrs before Bossman wipes an irrelevant [to many] post.)
Doug, had a look, but didn't see: will revisit tomorrow. Stay safe Pilot. JH.
